HERE'S WHAT I WORE...

Dress: Chicwish (love this one too) | Bag: See by Chloe (sold out, love this one too) | Espadrilles: Free People

...

It's been so gloomy and chilly in LA for a while, and I barely have any warm sweaters with me, this always happens to me when I travel somewhere expecting it to be hot all the time. Gladly the weather report shows more sunny days this week and I can't wait! It's already spring after all, oh how fast the time goes!

We took these pictures this evening and I was so sad to find out silly me had the camera settings set wrong for the lighting and the quality turned out to be so crappy, but a little editing and the Hollywood sign in the background makes it look a little vintage, maybe it's not so bad after all? I'm so obsessed with the dress I'm wearing, it's flowy, white, and lace - my favorite combo of all times and always a spring - summer staple in my wardrobe. Have you sorted out your spring wardrobe yet? If not, it's the perfect time to do so as Shopbop is having a huge sale again! There are so so many things and places so see in LA, I'm already starting to feel a little bit of FOMO. Today we stopped by Wilshire Blvd which is a really nice area here in LA, famous for the skyscrapers located all along the boulevard. Here we visited a stretch between Fairfax and Highland Avenues which is known as Miracle Mile and is a home to many of the largest museums of Los Angeles. I especially loved the Urban Light installation right at the entrance of LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), which consists of 202 restored street lamps from the 1920s and 1930s. I will definitely come back here at the night time!

Right next to LACMA there's La Brea Tar Pits. Tar pits are composed of heavy oil fractions called asphaltum, which seeped from the earth as oil. From time to time asphalt would from to a thick trap for animals, hereafter fossils have been found of mamooths, dire wolves, bears, sloths and even a human from 10,000 years ago!

Venice -  palm trees, skate boarders, ocean breeze - or should I say a breeze of 420, haha! Since it's legal here you can feel it in the air basically everywhere you go, but especially in Venice! Venice Beach is only a few miles away from Santa Monica Pier but it's a whole lotta different. The atmosphere here is more artsy and laid back, the alley that goes all along the beach is super crowded with interesting people and even more interesting shops where you can get a t-shirt, a slice of pizza, a pair of sunglasses, some medical marijuana and everything in between. It's fun here with loud music everywhere and people dancing with skates but can get too interesting when the sun goes down.

HERE'S WHAT I WORE...

Hollywood Boulevard. Probably the most crowded place I've ever visited! It's so overflowed with tourists, I'm even surprised I've managed to find a moment to take some pictures before hundreds of people crossed the street. Hollywood wasn't quite as expected, but I guess I never really knew what it's about. We visited the Hollywood & Highland Center where you can get some shopping done (both high street & designer), it's an open, roofless mall and if you go up to the second floor you get a pretty good view of the Hollywood sign. Other famous places on the Boulevard are TCL Chinese theatre, Dolby theatre and Madame Tussauds wax museum which I visited in London, so we didn't go there. And of course, the Walk of Fame! I never thought it would be sooo long! It goes on both sides of the street and it's so long we didn't even get to the end of it. I was actually surprised how many of the celebrities names on the stars I did not know - I've only seen a few familiar names compared to how many there are! All in all Hollywood blvd is definitely a must see in LA but I wouldn't recommend living in this area just because it's "Hollywood" (we almost did) and have visited it twice I don't plan to come back any time soon.
