Lilac Hour

3:00 PM, October 12th, the sun is shining through the haze and all of a sudden the sea turns into a multi faceted lilac diamond. It's truly spectacular, I can barely believe my eyes. Pastel heaven... October is my favorite time to be at the beach. The crowds are long gone, the weather is perfectly warm and all that's left is magic. I was always fascinated by the water. I remember as a little girl in school, on a cold winters day, I would literally dream about the glistening lake at my grandparents ranch where I would spend my summer breaks, how beautiful it shined on a hot summers day. This pure, simple thought would be so comforting, and I knew that summer would come again and everything would be ok.
